Q) Where are you located?
A) David MacVicar Photographer is located in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia! We love to travel, though, so don’t be upset if you’re not close by. We welcome destination weddings all over Canada!
Q) Do you have a studio?
A) Yes!! We have a brand new office location where we can meet with our clients to discuss your wedding plans, view our work and just hang out! We are located on 262 Reserve Street in Glace Bay.
Q) I’m getting married on a Friday (or a Sunday). Do you offer any off-day discounts?
A) We shoot a limited number of discounted off-day weddings per year. Contact us for more information!
Q) Will David be the only photographer at my wedding??
A) NO! And that’s a good thing! Every wedding shot by David MacVicar Photographer features two photographers. Our amazing second photographer is none other than Chad Tobin and his photographic vision perfectly compliments David’s style. Imagine having your wedding photographed by two totally different, but very complimentary photographers to provide the most incredible visual document of your finest day; your wedding.
Q) How much time should we allow for “formal” photos on the wedding day?
A) Depends on how many people you want photographed during that time. I usually recommend making a list of “must-have” photos that includes immediate family, grandparents and the wedding party. DEFINITELY DON’T try to squeeze in a photo of every single guest at the wedding! When the “formal” photo session takes more than 15 minutes, everyone starts getting antsy and irritated. Keep the day moving smooth by keeping the list as short as you can so everyone can enjoy the day with real smiles – not fake ones!
Q. How many photos do you take?
A) When we photograph weddings we do not limit ourselves on the amount of images taken. We take as many images as we need to best tell your wedding story.
Q. What is your photography style?
A) Our wedding photography cannot be defined by one style. We photograph the day as it happens, and your wedding is a direct reflection of your personality and love for one another. We capture the interaction between you, your family and your friends, allowing our images to tell the story of your wedding day. All of our images capture the connection between our couples. We actually do our best to not photograph any “cheesy” cookie cutter pictures, or the typical “look at the camera and smile” images.
