I had a great time shooting with Vanessa in around Glace Bay and Dominion. We set out to shoot some model/fashion images and I think we succeeded. Vanessa is extremely beautiful so it made my job pretty easy. All I had to do was find some flattering light and we were good to go! There are many lighting styles here; backlight, sunflare, direct sunlight, you name it! I prefer shooting natural light 100% of the time over flash based lighting (off camera, strobes, direct) because its just more real, more flattering and just natural to the eye.

Aiden & Bria Pt. 2

Its incredible how fast 2 years can fly by! The last time I created images of Aiden he was 6 weeks old. Today he is a very active, hilarious and bright little boy. His big sis’ Bria is maturing and growing into a beautiful little lady. We created some images indoors and right out on the street! Great images can be taken anywhere…here’s a small slice of what we got.

Ashley is competing in the Miss Teen Nova Scotia contest and needed some awesome shots to send to the organizers. She was in contact with me a few times over the past few months, but we finally got a chance to get together and do some awesome stuff. Best of luck Ashley, I know you will do great!

Vanessa & Chris

Vanessa and Chris are an awesome couple! I met Chris a while back when I photographed his brother Jeff’s Wedding. They decided to stop into the studio over the holiday’s to get some portraits done! Here is a glimpse at some of the work we created together! I really love the simple look of the white/grey background and will be using it so much more!

Kristin was the successful bidder on my donation to the NICU at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital…. let me explain….

A few months back Emerald Isle put on a fantastic evening for a whole host of beautiful women across the CBRM, the Jump Into Summer Event. The event was a huge success with a great turn out. One of the highlights of the night was the silent auction table, where the items donated were auctioned off silently in support of the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). I donated a photography sitting and 16×20 laminated/mounted wall print. Well, Kristin was the winner of my item and the money she used in the auction was given to the NICU to show continued support. I feel so incredible about this, just having 2 babies myself. I will be doing more donations in the upcoming months to help with the drive to support the NICU. Kristin IS AWESOME.

That’s all I really need to write for her. Ok I will explain a little bit. We went from super fun and cute shots to super dramatic and edgy shots and she pulled them off with ease! I will admit, her smile it too contagious and I prefer the more smiley looking shots, but man oh man – she totally rocked them all. I think that Kristin’s senior rep session shows that we are committed to creating a wide range of images for our seniors, and not choosing the same locations and posing time and time again.

Kristin will be graduating from Sydney Academy in 2010.

Baby Scott

So here is the first in our long serious of newborn portraiture, Baby Scott. He was amazing to photograph because he slept the whole time, and was easy pliable! We put him in about a hundred of different poses, moving his legs and positioning his head – he did so well, he was a great little boy. Thanks so much to Vicki and Tracey for helping us take photos of this little prince.

Tonight was my first “Trash The Dress” session and I am very very happy with the results.
