Meet my new friends Katie & Andrew! I was lucky enough to spend the day with them and photograph them as a couple around the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. How incredible would it be to shoot a wedding here. After spending a few hours together in some gorgeous sunshine & heat, this is what we left with. Katie & Andrew, thanks for being perfect in every single way.

Check out these soon to be wed ‘ers. It was great to shoot around Glace Bay wharf. In all my years creating images, I haven’t been down there until today. Even though its a bit rugged in spots, there’s beauty there. Great photos can occur in the most unlikely places.

They say Cape Breton Island is the best Island in North America and the third best in the world. I gotta believe ‘em. I travelled to Iceland recently and many times during our trip it felt like I was standing in another world. Turns out that same feeling is in my backyard. I have never been past Ingonish before, but we travelled up to Bay St. Lawrence to make some engagement images for Joel and Michelle. We spent a lot of the day in around the Bay and up into Meat Cove. Standing on the cliff over looking Meat Cove gave me that exact same feeling that I had in Iceland. I was not expecting to feel it here, but I did. This place has huge meaning to Joel and Michelle; many of their days they spent here overlooking the jagged cliffs & wandering the land by themselves. What an incredible place to foster young love…the best in this whole world.

Jenni & Chris are both from Cape Breton, but they have a second home and its very very far north up in Repulse Bay. Jenni is a teacher and spends most of her year up in Repulse Bay with Chris. I got to meet them a while back when we were going over plans for the wedding and I think I threw about 1000 questions their way and they were so kind and willing to share about their experiences and life up north; it was a great way to get to know them and figure out what makes them tick! Their wedding is only 2 weeks away, so check back to the blog to see Chris and Jenni’s wedding images. They plan on getting married outside in South Bar underneath a gorgeous canopy of trees – looking forward to spending the day with you guys! Until then…

Natalie & Kyle

We hung out when we first got to the Grand Palladium resort and took some photos. We got to know each other pretty well; and then with the help of Natalie and all her nurse friends I was able to be rescued from the pool bar and brought back to life. Thanks guys. I owe you one!

I was so excited to finally meet Doreen and Jeff after such a long time when they booked me as their wedding photographer. It was worth the wait because Jeff and Doreen are such great people – kind, amazing personalities and great in front of the camera. I love that they showed up in such great dress – Jeff was looking sharp and Doreen was pure classic beauty. Based on this engagement session, I know their wedding is going to be spectacular; I can’t wait to be a part of your day! I strive to create images with the most organic, natural feel possible even though they are digital capture, this is what I created for Jeff and Doreen. Enjoy!
