Thanks so much for visiting my new blog journal and welcome to my brand new look! My name is David MacVicar, a wedding & portrait photographer based in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.
I have an incredible career photographing weddings with the coolest brides and grooms on earth. To date, the weddings I have done have brought me all over the province and in the next year I will be traveling to new parts of the country. We welcome chances to travel with our photography, destination weddings included. I began shooting weddings professionally in 2007 and it became an instant passion. The chance to spend this most important day with loving couples is a privilege that I cherish and am constantly thankful for.
My photography style is very modern and in the vein of 'photojournalism'. I believe that capturing natural moments as they happen lead to the most stunning images possible; this is especially true at weddings. As well, I provide stunning images to families, couples & expecting mothers to want to break away from the norm and receive something truly special.
I will post images from recent weddings and photo-shoots, share photography techniques, and update you on my life with a new baby boy!. Continuing a portfolio of Maria, we went out today to snag some shots around Glace Bay. This is what we came up with! Thanks Maria for being such a sport in the cold temperatures and for being incredibly easy to photograph, ahah!

The beautiful Sarah and I were talking about hooking up for some more photos before it got TOO cold (although today was honestly bone chilling…) and decided that today would be a great to day to get together. The session was kicked up a notch when Jonathan decided to come along; his presence added a whole new dimension to the shoot and he brought out a really amazing side to Sarah - it was great to see them have fun and laugh with each other even though we were probably going to die of some crazy form of hypothermia! haahhaah; thanks guys for being so adventurous and putting up with the cold while we got these shots; you are the best!
Benjamin decided to terrorize the community in his custom dragon suit…hahahaha…honestly it was the cutest thing I have ever seen. We are going to really rock it next Halloween when he’s walking full tilt; YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
